Andrew Harrison

WELCOME!

Welcome to my landing page. As a seeker, author, speaker, innovator and consultant, I have quite a few interests. That means I’m also associated with a few different websites. We built www.andrewharrison.info to give an overview of my background and experiences, but also to provide a hub that will allow you to easily jump to my other pages (yes marketers, we created a web page that you are supposed to leave).

My life has been an exciting adventure. I feel truly blessed to have met the people I’ve met and seen the places I’ve seen.

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined."
– Henry David Thoreau

“In the spirit of Jack Kerouac and Studs Terkel, Andrew Harrison hopped into his car to search for himself through the stories of others.”
- WCPN, Cleveland NPR affiliate

“If I have to spend 84,000 hours of my life working, I’ve got to be passionate about it.”
- Love Your 84,000 Hours at Work

“In order to find out what is missing in your life, in order to live your dream, you need to listen to the feelings inside of you. Then you need to do something about it.”
- Love Your 84,000 Hours at Work

“Innovation cannot be forced, but it can be fostered. Organizations cannot mandate innovation. They can only provide the environment, resources, and focus that will allow it to flourish.”
- The Invisible Element

THE ROAD SO FAR ... (you can click on the circles)

IamOntheRoad.com – A Seeker goes On the Road

This is the first webpage I was a part of. It currently has aspects of both my past and present. In the past, it chronicles what happened to me when I embarked on a journey to understand what makes people love their work and life. My study of human motivation began by traveling the country interviewing passionate people from all walks of life about what they do, why they do it, and how they came to find their success. Pre-mainstream Facebook and Twitter, there are hundreds of Journal entries I wrote while on the road. In the present, the page is also the home of the research and interview process for my next book, “On the Spiritual Road: Seeking Faith and Religion in the United States.”

Book #1 – Author of, “Love Your 84,000 Hours at Work: Stories on the Road from People with Purpose and Passion”

A book that takes my interviews and shares stories of people who love their jobs and how they came to find them.

St. John Fisher College, Adjunct Professor – Business Communication

Over the course of a year at St. John Fisher, I found that I love to teach. I feel like I will be Professor Harrison again at some point in the future.

Book #2 – Writer of “The Invisible Element: A Practical Guide for the Human Dynamics of Innovation”

I am the writer of the book (Bob Rosenfeld and Gary Wilhelmi are the authors) that explains how organizations, departments and teams can create and sustain a culture of innovation. Not a theory book, an application book. It’s perfect for leaders who want to make innovation happen.

Idea Connection Systems (a global innovation consulting firm), Innovation Ambassador

As I wrote, “The Invisible Element,” the authors and I decided we liked each other and had similar values. I came aboard in a more day-to-day role selling, designing and delivering keynotes, workshops and programs.

Bonfire Consulting, Founder

As an entrepreneur, I founded Bonfire Consulting. We are experts in workplace innovation whose passion for people helps provide talks and workshops that inspire more engaged and productive teams, leaders and organizations.

Book #3 – “On the Spiritual Road: Seeking Faith and Religion in the United States”

This is the page that will chronicle the research and interview process for my next book. “On the Spiritual Road” will share the stories of how people found/chose their religion. It will also describe why people believe what they believe, talk about how people practice their religion in current society and explain at a high level, the key elements of 12 different religions.
